About the Leadership Development Program
New in 2004,
the Leadership Development Program is designed to
cultivate the leadership potential of Muskingum students,
with assistance from both alumni and friends in the
community. Staff and students who work with the Leadership Development
Program believe that leadership is not just for people
who hold formal leadership positions, and all students
are potential future leaders.
While the Program
is an extracurricular commitment, students do share
a common First Year Seminar class during their
first semester on campus. Other shared experiences
such as group retreats and trips, service projects,
meetings with alums, and leadership workshops help
students develop their leadership skills and abilities.
Prior leadership
experience is not required, but prospective students
are asked to complete a brief application outlining
their interests in leadership.
