What is a Resident Assistant (RA)?
Resident Assistants (RAs) are specifically trained sophmores, juniors, and seniors who live on each floor/section of a residence hall. They assist individual students with personal, academic, and social concerns, and help develop a sense of community among residents. Your RA is one of the best people to go to with any questions or concerns that you may have. RAs can be found in their rooms, but also at the front desks of the residence halls from 5pm-12am on weeknights and 5pm-2am on weekends.
What is an Area Coordinator (AC)?
Area Coordinators (ACs) are full-time, live-in professional staff working with the Director of Residence Life and the Student Affairs Division, who are responsible for providing leadership and direction
in coordinating a comprehensive residence life program. AC's directly supervise all the Resident Assistants and serve as student conduct officers and mediators in the event of a crisis. There is an AC on duty 24 hours a day, 7days a week.
