Coach Gleason and Coach Linzy named OAC Men's Cross Country Coaching Staff of the Year
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, December 7, 2012 - The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that Muskingum University head men’s cross country coach Jake Gleason and assistant coach Justin Linzy have been named the OAC Men’s Cross Country Coaching Staff of the Year.
This marks the first time that Muskingum has been honored with the men’s staff of the year accolades.
Gleason and Linzy led the men’s squad to a fifth place finish at the OAC Championships and a 10th place finish at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships, which marked Muskingum’s best finish in both events since 1998. The coaching duo also guided the Muskies to a seventh place finish in the 22-team field at the All-Ohio Championships, which was an improvement of nine places from 2011.
The entire men’s team qualified for the regional championships and senior Tyler Smith led the way with All-OAC and All-Great Lake Region honors.
