Muskies set two school records and win two events at OAC Championships
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, April 25, 2009 -
Muskingum College set two new school records at the Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Wilmington College and had a pair of individual champions on Saturday.

Jarryd Ridgeway won the javelin throw and was named All-OAC with his school record and NCAA Championships provisional toss of 191-00. He eclipsed the school mark of 190-04.00 that he set last weekend at the Kenyon College Invitational.
Samantha Bice set the school record in the javelin with her throw of 118-06.00. She beat the record of 114-11.00 that teammate Kelley Crater set last weekend at Kenyon. Bice finished fifth at the OAC Championships.
Demetrius Bailey won his second straight OAC Outdoor triple jump title and claimed All-OAC honors with his jump of 45-03.75. Bailey also teamed with Corey Hendereen, Josh Hardwick and Brett Vermillion to finish eighth in the 4x100 relay with a time of 44.23.
Deanna Dobos helped lead the women with a fifth place finish in the 400 hurdles with a time if 1:05.86. Dobos also was a member of the seventh place (4:11.76) 4x400 relay sqaud with Brittany Willis, Melinda Paine and Hallie Nesselroad. Princess Tarrance finished fifth in the shot put with a heave of 39-04.40, while Amy Adams placed third in the hammer throw with a toss of 133-10.00.
Overall, the Muskie men finished 10th in the 10-team field with 22.50 points. The Muskie women's placed 10th with 16 points. Ohio Northern won both the men's and women's team titles with 172 and 125 points, repectively.
The Muskies will compete again on May 1 at the Toledo University Invitational.
