Bailey garners OAC T&F Athlete of the Week
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, April 20, 2009 -
The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that Muskingum College sophomore Demetrius Bailey has been named the OAC Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week.
Bailey leaped to a Muskingum school record distance of 48-3.25 in the triple jump and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Kenyon College Invitational Saturday. The Muskingum record was held by Ricardo Burks who set the mark of 47-3.75 in 1987. Bailey also finished third in the long jump with a leap of 21-3.50.
This marks the sixth time in Bailey's career that he has earned the honor of OAC Field Athlete of the Week.
