Bailey and Addy claim All-OAC honors to lead Muskies at OAC Championships
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, February 28, 2010 -
The Muskingum University track & field team was led at the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships by junior Demetrius Bailey and freshman Chase Addy. [men's results] [women's results]
Bailey who won his third straight OAC Track & Field Indoor Championships title in the triple jump. He had a season-best and NCAA provisional jump of 46-02.75 and added a season-best and third place finish in long jump with a leap of 22-03.00. BAiley was honored with All-OAC honors in both events.
Also pacing the squad was freshman Chase Addy, who placed second in pole vault with a mark of 14-05.50. Addy received All-OAC accolades for his vault.
On the women’s side, junior Hannah Hilliard led with a leap of 34.05 feet in triple jump to earn a fourth place finish. Freshman Nicki Sharrock ran a personal best time of 9.26 in the 55-meter hurdles.
“Our team is in a great place,” said Muskingum Head Coach Jake Gleason. “We are heading into outdoor season with great confidence and high expectations to compete not only in the conference but also on the national level.”
A few Muskies will continue to compete for a chance to head to the indoor national championships. They will head to the Mount Union Last Chance Meet next weekend.
