Hoyt, Blubaugh and Tackett named Academic All-District IV
NEW CONCORD, Ohio, May 12, 2005 -
Junior All-American pitcher Erica Hoyt was named to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine All-District IV Softball first team, while senior All-American designated player Nicole Blubaugh and sophomore second baseman Kim Tackett both were named to the second team squad.
Hoyt, a Spanish major, carries a 3.70 grade-point-average. Hoyt was earlier named Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Year and led the Muskies with a 1.15 ERA with 175 strikeouts. Blubaugh, a Physical Education major, carries a 3.38 grade-point-average. Blubaugh has posted career-high numbers this season in batting average (.460), RBIs (58), home runs (13) and runs (48). Tackett, an Interdisciplinary major, carries a 3.56 grade-point-average. Tackett has notched career-highs in batting average (.398), RBIs (31), hits (37) and runs 28).
