Hoying named ESPN the Magazine Academic First Team All-District IV
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, May 9, 2008 -
Muskingum College senior catcher Keri Hoying (Russia) was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District IV College Division Softball First Team.
Hoying, a health/physical education major, carries a 3.59 grade-point-average. She leads the nationally-ranked Muskies in hits (56), doubles (15), triples (2) and total bases (87). Hoying is batting .406 with 30 RBI’s and four home runs.
She helped lead Muskingum to its 11th straight Ohio Athletic Conference regular season title and to the top-seed in the NCAA Division III Softball Championships in the Glassboro, New Jersey.
With First Team honors, Hoying now advances to the ESPN the Magazine All-American ballot.
To qualify for the teams, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average. College Division District IV includes every NCAA II, III and NAIA institution in Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama.
