Meet The Coaches

Mary Beth Caudill
Head Coach

Coach CaudillMary Beth Caudill is in her 12th year as head coach of the women’s soccer program at Muskingum.

This enthusiastic and veteran coach is the all-time winningest coach in Muskingum women’s soccer history. Last season, she coached a school record six Muskies to academic all-league honors. She guided the Black & Magenta to its most non-conference wins in program history in 2005 and led the team to a history-making Ohio Athletic Conference tournament appearance in 2001. Caudill was awarded the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Officials Association’s Distinguished Excellence in Sports Merit Award in 2000 for exhibiting sportsmanship and character before, during, and after matches.

Caudill earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Wright State University (WSU) in Dayton, Ohio. She served as captain of the Raiders NCAA Division I women’s soccer team during the 1992 and ’93 seasons. Caudill was a GTE Academic All-American and team MVP in 1993, and was the Raiders’ Student-Athlete of the Year in 1992 and ’93. In May of 2001, she was inducted to the WSU Athletic Hall of Fame, and in October of 2003 was inducted into the WSU Soccer Walk of Fame. In August of 1994, the West Carrollton, Ohio, native started her coaching career as the assistant women’s soccer coach at WSU.

Professionally, Caudill played five seasons in the W-League. She was a member of the Cincinnati Leopards in 1995, the Cleveland Eclipse during the 1998 and 1999 seasons and the Cincinnati LadyHawks during 2000 and 2001.

Caudill’s amateur success as a striker includes trips to the Donnelly Cup National Championship on the Ohio South Women’s Open team in 1995 and 1996. During the summer of 1999, she moved up to guide the squad as player/coach and earned a return trip to the National Cup in 2001.
She currently holds a United States Soccer Federation “B” coaching license and is a member of the National Soccer Coaches of America. Additionally, she holds a Level II NSCAA Advanced Goalkeeping Diploma.

Caudill, formerly Lengefeld, was married to Tom Caudill in July of 2003. They currently reside in New Concord with their son, Tanner, born December 11, 2005.

Maria Amicone
Assistant Coach

Coach AmiconeMaria Amicone is entering her first season as assistant coach for the women’s soccer program at Muskingum.

Amicone, a National Soccer Coaches of America member, was a letterwinner and captain for the NCAA Division II Mercyhurst College women’s soccer team. The midfielder was the teams fourth-leading scorer her senior year and was second on the squad in assists. Amicone helped lead the Lakers to a national top 20 ranking and a co-conference championship.

She earned her bachelor’s degree with a business concentration in sports management from Mercyhurst College.

Tom Caudill
Assistant Coach

Coach T CaudillTom Caudill is entering his fourth season as a volunteer assistant coach for the women’s soccer program at Muskingum.

Caudill, a National Soccer Coaches of America member, has attended various clinics through the NSCAA and was trained in Level I and Level II NSCAA Advanced Goalkeeping. He assists with aspects of practice, games, recruiting and team functions. Caudill also serves as a guest lecturer, first year seminar instructor and sports information director at Muskingum.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and his master’s degree from Muskingum College.
