Snider, Leymon, Shroyer and Ardner named Academic All-OAC
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, May 17, 2011 - The Muskingum University men's golf team made history on Tuesday by having four members of the team named Academic All-OAC. Senior David Snider, junior Jourdon Leymon and junior Joey Shroyer all garnered Academic All-OAC status, while junior Joel Ardner was named Academic All-OAC Honorable Mention. The four selections are the most-ever in the history of the men's golf program.
Snider, a political science and history major, carries a 3.95 grade-point-average. Snider played in six tournaments this year and averaged 84.8 strokes per round. His best finish was a tie for 16th at the Muskingum Fall Invitational.
Leymon, a Spanish major, carries a 3.72 grade-point average. Leymon led the Muskies this season with a 78.2 scoring average. He logged four top 10 finishes in tournaments during the 2010-11 campaign and was named All-OAC after finishing sixth at the OAC Championships.
Shroyer, a mathematics, business and economics major, carries a 3.95 grade-point-average. He was fourth on the squad with a 81.5 scoring average and registered his best finish at the Capital University Fall Classic when he tied for the 13th.
Ardner, a pre-medicine major, carries a 3.47 grade-point-average. Ardner was second on the team with an 80.4 scoring average. His best finish of the year was at the Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Invitational where he finished tied for seventh.
