NEW CONCORD, OHIO, September 22, 2011 - Muskingum University senior linebacker Alex Thomas received national recognition for his stellar play against Marietta College last week by being name to the D3Football.com National Team of the Week.

Thomas, who was named OAC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, helped lead the Muskingum defense against the Pioneers with a game-high 15 tackles with one interception for 47 yards and a half a sack.

The Muskie defense limited Marietta to just 20 yards rushing and 238 yards of total offense en route to a 34-14 Shriners Game win. Thomas ranks third in the OAC averaging 12 tackles per game.
