Burns named OAC Offensive Player of the Week
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, November 16, 2009 - The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that Muskingum University junior quarterback Jake Burns has been named the OAC Football Offensive Player of the Week.
 Burns, who helped lead Muskingum to a win at Heidelberg University and a fifth place finish in the rugged OAC Saturday, notched four touchdowns on the day. He threw for 153 yards and one score and rumbled for 116 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
With his stellar finish to the season, Burns lifted his career total yards to 4,557, which ranks second all-time at Muskingum. Additionally, he ranks third all-time for career passing yards with 3,766. Furthermore, Burns' one touchdown pass against Heidelberg was his 14th of the season, which broke the school record of 13 he set last year for touchdown passes in a year. Finally, his 1,866 passing yards this campaign set a new record for passing yards in a season.
