Davis and Ardman named MVP's and Durbin garners Coaches Award
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, November 15, 2012 - The Muskingum University football coaching staff has announced that senior defensive back Stephen Davis and junior offensive lineman Denny Ardman were named Most Valuable Players for the 2012 season, while senior defensive lineman Ben Durbin received the Coaches Award.
Davis led the Ohio Athletic Conference in passes defended with 14 and ranked third in the league with four interceptions, including two he returned for touchdowns. On the season, Davis notched 17 tackles and forced one fumble. He also led the conference in kick returns with a 21.8 yards per kick return average.
Ardman was the anchor of the Muskie offensive line this season. Ardman helped the Muskies average 130.3 yards rushing per game and average 285.2 yards of total offense per game. This marks the second straight year that Ardman has been honored with offensive MVP honors.
Durbin received the Coaches Award. Durbin added depth on the defensive line and ended the season with five tackles, including one sack. He was a four-year member of the squad.
