With the win, Muskingum moves to 8-12 overall and to 5-8 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The victory vaulted the Muskies into a tie for sixth place in the OAC. The top eight teams at the end of the regular season advance to the OAC Tournament.

Muskingum was led by a trio of scorers. Senior forward Kyle Clinedinst led all scorers with 21 points. He was 7-of-13 and also grabbed seven boards. Clinedinst now stands at 938 points on his quest to 1,000 career points. Also contributing to the victory was senior forward Josh Brindley, who had 15 points and five rebounds. Senior guard Carson Thomas chipped in 10 points along with two rebounds to aid the win for the Muskies.

With the loss, the Purple Raiders fall to 8-12 overall with 4-9 in the OAC.

Leading the way for the Purple Raiders was Stevie Griffin who had 16 points and eight rebounds. Nate Jacubec also contributed with 13 points and three boards for Mount Union. Muskingum's stingy defense held the league's top scorer Jimmy Wood to just eight points on the night - 10 below his average.

The Muskies controlled play throughout much of the first half and led 30-19 at the break.

In the second half, Muskingum built its lead to 57-40 with 8:24 to play. However, the Purple Raiders made a late surge going on a 14-0 run to make the score 60-57 with 2:16 on the clock. Mount Union missed several key free throws in the final minute of the game and the Muskie defense forced a turnover in the waning seconds to seal the win.

At halftime of the game, Muskingum honored its fall sports student-athletes who were named All-OAC, Academic All-OAC and OAC Player of the Week.
