Whiteman named OAC Baseball Hitter of the Week

NEW CONCORD, OHIO, April 26, 2010 - The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that Muskingum University senior Brock Whiteman has been named the OAC Baseball Hitter of the Week.

Whiteman, who broke the Muskingum career hits record with a home run against Ohio Northern University, hit. 529 for the week with 10 runs, seven RBIs, three home runs and two doubles. Whiteman's milestone home run to right center was his 207th career hit which surpassed the old mark of 206 held by Mike Van Schepen (2000-03). Whiteman ended the week with 208 career hits.

Whiteman's outstanding week of play helped lead Muskingum to a sweep of fifth-ranked Marietta College last Wednesday. It marked the third time this season that Muskingum has beaten a team ranked in the top 25.
