VanMeter named OAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

NEW CONCORD, OHIO, April 25, 2011 - Muskingum University senior Nathan VanMeter was honored for his performance last week by being named the Ohio Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Against Ohio Northern University, VanMeter fired a complete game four-hit shutout with a season-high12 strikeouts and no walks to move to 3-3 on the year. It marked the fourth time this season that VanMeter had held an opponent to just four hits and the third time he had not issued a walk.

VanMeter, who leads the team in wins (3), ERA (3.66), complete games (3) and strikeouts (53), is holding opponents to a .228 batting average this season.
