Spitzer named Academic All-OAC

NEW CONCORD, OHIO, May 26, 2011 - The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that the Muskingum University senior outfielder Erik Spitzer has been named Academic All-OAC.

Spitzer, a political science major, carries a 3.55 grade-point-average. He led the Muskies in both batting average (.359) and hits (52) and logged 24 runs, 17 RBIs, 12 doubles and was a perfect 13-for-13 in stolen bases. Spitzer recorded a team-best 16 multiple hits games and ended the season with three multiple RBI games. Spitzer, a two-time All-OAC honoree, ended his outstanding career ranked first all-time in career doubles with 52, ranked third all-time in at-bats (565) and hits (203) and ninth in career batting average (.359).

This marks the third time that Spitzer has been honored with Academic All-OAC accolades.
