Meet the Staff
The Athletic Training and Medical Staff for 2012-13 include:
Ken Blood, MS, ATC, LAT, Head Athletic Trainer
(Football, Men's Basketball, Baseball)
Ken Blood is in his 21st year as Head Athletic Trainer and Instructor in Health and Physical Education and 32nd year overall in the profession. He was at Muskingum from 1982-88 and then since 1998. Blood has also been employed as an Athletic Trainer with Marietta (Ohio) City Schools and Central Ohio Sports Medicine Center (Zanesville, Ohio). Ken earned an Interdisciplinary BS in Biology and Athletic Training from Marietta College and a Masters degree from Ohio University. Ken is a Certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers' Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also a Charter member of the Ohio Athletic Trainer's Association and a former District Representative for the southeastern region of Ohio. Ken is also a licensed to practice Athletic Training in the State of Ohio. A native of Connecticut, Ken resides in New Concord with wife Elaine. They are the parents of seven children and two grandchildren.
Alicia Hurps, MAE, ATC, LAT, Assistant Head Athletic Trainer
(Men's Soccer, Women's Basketball, Softball)
Alicia Hurps enters her second year as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Muskingum University. Prior to arriving in New Concord, Hurps served as Assistant Athletic Trainer at North Carolina Wesleyan. Hurps earned a BS in Athletic Training from the University of Mount Union and a Masters degree in Adult Education from Muskingum. Hurps is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Ohio Athletic Trainers' Association. She is also licensed to practice athletic training in the state of Ohio. Alicia and husband Tony reside in Pickerington.
Kelsey Ivancic, Assistant Athletic Trainer
(Women's Soccer, Wrestling, non-traditional sports)
Kelsey Ivancic is in her first year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Kelsey graduated from the University of Mount Union in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. She is an NATA-BOC Certified Athletic Trainer and is licensed to practice Athletic Training in the state of Ohio. While at Muskingum, the Euclid, Ohio native will be pursuing a Masters in Adult Education.
Zane Wildermuth, Assistant Athletic Trainer
(Volleyball, Cross Country, Indoor & Outdoor Track)
Zane Wildermuth is in his first year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Zane graduated from Heidelberg University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. He is a Certified Athletic Trainer and is licensed to practice Athletic Training in the state of Ohio. While at Muskingum, the Botkins, Ohio native is pursuing a Masters degree in Adult Education.
