Science Week Events

Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Week
Each year in April, the Science Division hosts Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Week to celebrate the achievements of Muskingum University science students. Undergraduate research is a key element in science education. Each April, the Muskingum University Science Division celebrates the achievements of its science students during Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Week with the James Bradford Colloquium (a presentation of senior research), an undergraduate poster session, a banquet, and the Anderson Lecture Series. The undergraduate research experience is widely regarded as a key element in science education. The benefits of research to the student include increased confidence, gains in critical thinking, acquisition of technical and communication skills, clarification of career path, and development of close relationships with faculty.

Dr. and Mrs. Glenn Hodges

The Hodges have provided an endowment which supports the research fund, The Carolyn and Glenn Hodges Student Research Fund. Students must write a proposal to be evaluated for allocation of funds. They have also provided funds for awards for science student presentations and posters through The Carolyn and Glenn Hodges Student Research Awards Fund. Awards are determined by faculty evaluation of the presentations and posters.
