Undergraduate Research Experience at Hope college

Hope College is offering undergraduate research experiences in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Hope College's research experience is ranked as a top program by U.S. News and World Report. Students work directly with a faculty mentor to answer questions at the forefront of scientific research. Choose from a range of externally-funded faculty research projects:

• Analytical Chemistry
• Biochemistry
• Computational Chemistry
• Environmental Chemistry
• Inorganic Chemistry
• Medicinal Chemistry
• Organic Chemistry
• Photochemistry
• Physical Chemistry
• Spectroscopy

Students selected for the REU program will receive a stipend of $4400 for the 10-week program, 100% housing subsidy, and travel reimbursement. Any undergraduate who is a U.S. citizen and will continue to be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in the Fall of 2009 is eligible. Women and underrepresented minorities are partricularly encouraged to apply. Selection criteria include a reasonable academic record, interest in chemistry, career plans, independence, creativity and the potential to benefit from a research experience.

Kent State Summer Research Program in Liquid Crystals

Undergraduates, join us at Kent State for exciting summer research in Liquid Crystals--Synthetic and Natural Systems. Areas of research include Optoelectronics/LC Displays, Organic Synthesis, Biological Membranes, Electrochemistry, Bioseparations, and Nanomaterials. The program runs from June 1 through August 7, 2009 in state-of-the art facilities. Students will receive a $3500 stipend, free housing, and travel assistance.
