The premier wind band at Muskingum University, the Wind Ensemble performs a wide variety of works, ranging from wind band classics to twenty-first century contemporary repertoire. The Wind Ensemble performs several concerts each year as well as an annual tour. Open to all students through audition.

Muskingum Valley Symphonic Winds
The Muskingum Valley Symphonic Winds is comprised of professional and talented amateur musicians from throughout southeastern Ohio. The Symphonic Winds performs a wide variety of music, ranging from the standard repertoire to selections from the Broadway stage, in a yearly concert series, funded in part by the Ohio Arts Council. Open to Muskingum faculty, staff, students, and community members through audition.

The Jazz Ensemble is devoted to studying and performing this uniquely American art form. A wide range of repertoire, representing different style periods is performed. A variety of ensembles are offered, ranging from small combos to a full big band. Students have opportunities for improvisation and solo performances. Open to all students through audition.

The Marching Band performs at all home football games. Open to students from all majors, the Marching Band provides spirit and energy that is an integral part of the game atmosphere. Shows are designed, created, and taught through student direction, under the supervision of the Director of Bands. The percussion ensemble performs repertoire for standard percussion ensemble as well as music for steel drum band. Students are exposed to traditional, Latin American, and contemporary percussion techniques. Open to all students through audition.

Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra (SEOSO)
The Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra is a regional orchestra whose home is Muskingum University. Students may join the orchestra through audition. More informaion can be found at the SEOSO website at www.seoso.org
Rehearsals: Tuesdays, 7:00-9:30 p.m., Brown Chapel
Students learn and perform chamber music through participation in various small ensembles, including flute choir, clarinet choir, saxophone quartet, brass quintet, and guitar ensemble. Chamber ensembles are coached by Department of Music faculty and perform at least once each semester.
The premier choral ensemble at Muskingum, the Concert Choir performs sacred and secular music from a variety of cultures and historical periods, from Renaissance to contemporary choral works. The Concert Choir performs numerous concerts each year and an annual tour, and also collaborates with the Choral Society and Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra to present major choral-orchestral works. Open to all students through audition.

The Chamber Singers are a select, mixed-voice chamber ensemble auditioned from within the membership of the Concert Choir. In addition to singing and touring with the Concert Choir, the Chamber Singers perform for university functions, worship services, concerts, and civic events in New Concord and around the region.

The Muskingum Choral Society is a "town and gown" choir, open both to Muskingum students and members of the surrounding community. The Choral Society focuses on the presentation of large-scale choral works, frequently performing with the Concert Choir, Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra, and Muskingum Valley Brass. No audition required.

Musical Theatre Ensemble
The Musical Theatre Ensemble provides a creative approach to musical theatre and operatic scene study and performance. Repertoire from musicals, operettas, and operas is studied each term and presented in a public performance. Full musicals are regularly prepared and performed in collaboration with the Department of Theatre. Open to all students.

The Men's Chorus provides an opportunity for all men on campus to study and perform choral literature for male voices. The Men's Chorus sings for chapel services and presents one concert performance each semester. Open to all students, faculty, and staff. No audition required.
