Scholarships and Auditions
There are two types of auditions:
1) To be accepted as a music major or minor
2) To be awarded a music scholarship
The Muskingum Music Department offers scholarships to music majors, minors, and participants. Scholarships are based on musical ability and potential, and are awarded through audition regardless of financial status or academic record. Any student wishing to audition needs to complete an application for admission to Muskingum University.
To schedule an audition, contact:
Teresa Bennett, Department of Music secretary
Be sure to indicate whether you are auditioning for acceptance as a music major/minor or for scholarship consideration. All music major/minor auditionees will automatically be considered for music scholarships.
2016 Audition Dates
January 30 (Muskingum Scholarship Day)
February 6 (Muskingum Scholarship Day)
February 13 (Muskingum Scholarship Day)
Auditions may also be arranged on a different day by contacting the Department of Music.
Students should prepare at least two contrasting works (or movements). Instrumentalists will also be asked to perform scales and vocalists will be asked to vocalize.
Students auditioning for music as a major will also take a music theory placement test.
Students wishing to declare music as a major must pass a successful audition.
