About the Faculty

Shelley Amstutz-Szalay, PhD is Assistant Professor of Health Science with a doctorate in Public Health.  Shelley teaches Public Health & Epidemiology, Advanced Epidemiology, Personal Health, School & Community Health, and Medical Terminology.

Tim Berger, MS, RN, ATC is Lecturer in Health Science.  He teaches Nutrition & Physical Fitness, Sport Nutrition & Supplementation, and Physiology of Exercise.

Ken Blood, MS, ATC, AT is Director of Athletic Training, Assistant Professor of Athletic Training, and Head Athletic Trainer. Ken teaches Introduction to Athletic Training, Lower Extremity Assessment, Therapeutic Intervention, General Medical Conditions, and Health Issues & Programs.

Tom Caudill, MAE is Assistant Professor of Athletics Communication and the Director of Athletics Communication.  He teaches Athletics Communication, Athletics Communication Technology, Sports Writing and Sports Planning & Promotion.

Beth Fox, MEd is Head Women's Basketball Coach, Senior Women's Athletics Administrator and Lecturer in Physical and Health Education.  She teaches Sports Management & Marketing and Legal Issues in Sport.

Tiffany Fox, MS, ATC, AT is Instructor of Health Science.  Tiffany teaches Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, and Exercise Testing & Prescription.

Ethan Wetzel, MS is Football Defensive Coordinator, Strength Coordinator, and Lecturer in Health Science.  He is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.  Ethan teaches Principles of Strength & Conditioning and Nutrition & Physical Fitness.

Alicia Hurps, MAE, ATC, AT is Athletic Training Program Clinical Education Coordinator, Assistant Professor of Athletic Training and Assistant Athletic Trainer.  Alicia teaches Introduction to Athletic Training, Upper Extremity Assessment, Therapeutic Interventions, and Principles of Strength & Conditioning.

Tiffanie Jones, MS, ATC, AT is Instructor of Athletic Training and Assistant Athletic Trainer.  She teaches Introduction to Athletic Training, Therapeutic Modalities, Research Methods, and Sports Medicine.

Larry Normansell, PhD is Harry and Mary Evelyn Laurent Distinguished Professor of Psychology.  He serves as Chair of the Health Science Department and Chair of the Social Science Division.  Larry teaches Introduction to Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Seminar in Health Science, and Seminar in Sport and Performance Studies.

Janet Taylor-Lehman, MS, RD, LD is Lecturer in Health Science and a registered dietition.  She teaches Nutrition Across the Lifespan.
