Clinical Education: On-Campus Opportunities
Our students work with Muskingum University Athletic Trainers in providing medical care for Muskingum athletic teams. Students are involved in all aspects of care under the supervision of their Preceptor.
Clinical Education: Off-Campus Opportunities
The Athletic Training Program has affiliation agreements with a number of area high schools and health facilities. High Schools include Zanesville, West Muskingum, Maysville, John Glenn, Cambridge and Meadowbrook. Professional Athletic Trainers at each of those insitutions serve as Preceptors for our students.
We also have agreements with Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Genesis Healthcare System, Muskingum Valley Health Centers, Orthopaedic Associates of Zanesville, Northpointe Surgical Suites, and United Ambulance of Cambridge.
All of these groups provide valuable experiences for our students.
Student Involvement on campus
Our Athletic Training Students also distiguish themselves as campus leaders. Several students serve on the Student Athletic Advisory Council (SAAC). Many are a part of our Greek club system. Some have been selected to academic or service organizations. Over 1/3 of our students have or are participating in varsity athletics. And we have several of our students who serve in the residence halls.
