Boda and Heagen receive post-season honors
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, May 7, 2011 -
Muskingum University senior first baseman Mary Margaret Boda was named First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference and junior outfielder Kristyn Heagen was named All-OAC Honorable Mention and Capital One Academic All-District IV Second Team.
Boda, a four-year All-OAC honoree, led the Muskies in batting average (.447), doubles (14), slugging percentage (.691), on-base percentage (.544) and walks (16). She was second on the team with 42 hits and 23 RBIs. Boda ended the season with three home runs and 17 runs scored.
Heagen, a education major with a 3.92 grade-point-average, led Muskingum with 43 hits, 27 RBIs, five home runs, 71 total bases and one triple. She ranked second in batting average (.364), doubles (11), slugging percentage (.602) and runs scored (22). Heagen received her academic honor bases on her excellence in the classroom and on the field.
