Hoying, Tackett, Echelberger and Klutts named Academic All-OAC
NEW CONCORD, OHIO - Muskingum College junior catcher Kari Hoying and senior second baseman Kim Tackett were both named Academic All-OAC for softball, while junior shortstop Jamie Echelberger and senior pitcher Jennifer Klutts were named Academic Honorable Mention.

Third Team All-American, is a Health/Physical Education major and carries a 3.50 grade-point-average. She batted a staggering .450 with 68 hits, 45 RBI, 15 doubles and 11 home runs. She carried a .795 slugging percentage and scored 39 runs. Tackett, Health/Physical Education major, carries a 3.67 grade-point-average. She batted .373 with a school record tying 20 doubles. Tackett had three home runs, two triples and 28 RBIs. Hoying and Tackett were two of only four unanimous selections to the 26-player academic team.
Echelberger, an Early Childhood Education major, carries a 3.30 grade-point-average. She batted a career-high .374 with four home runs, five doubles and three triples. Echelberger added 26 RBIs and recorded a team-high 15 sacrifice hits.
Klutts, a Biology/Physical Education major, carries a 3.70 grade-point-average. She ended the year with a 1-1 record and a team-high five saves. Klutts fired 38.1 innings and registered a 2.74 ERA.
