Untied and Lafyatis named First Team All-OAC
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, November 12, 2008 - The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that Muskingum senior defender Drew Untied and senior midfielder Paul Lafyatis have both been named First Team All-OAC for men's soccer.
Untied, an OAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week honoree, started 72 career games for the Muskies. He led the Muskie defensive effort and headed in the historic tally against John Carroll University that propelled the Muskies into the OAC Tournament for the first time in the history of the program. Untied ended his tenure with six goals and two assists.
Lafyatis started 58 games throughout his career and controlled play in the midfield. This season he recorded a team-high three assists and also added three goals and one game-winning strike. He ended his Muskie playing days with nine goals and 13 assists.
Muskingum, led by Head Coach Seamus Reilly, ended the year with a mark of 7-11-1 and made school history with its first-ever OAC Tournament appearance.
