Shroyer, Leymon and Ardner named Academic All-OAC
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, May 21, 2012 - The Muskingum University senior men's golf trio of Joey Shroyer, Jourdon Leymon and Joel Ardner were honored by the Ohio Athletic Conference on Monday with Academic All-OAC accolades.
Shroyer, a mathematics, business and economics major, carries a 3.93 grade-point-average. He led the Muskies with a 78.2 scoring average and fired a career-best round of 66 at the Muskingum Spring Invitational at EagleSticks Golf Club. Shroyer logged three straight top 10 finishes at the end of the season and ended his career with a 12th place finish at the OAC Championships.
Leymon, a Spanish major, carries a 3.80 grade-point average. Leymon was second on the squad with an 80.5 scoring average. His best finish of the season was at the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational where he finished sixth in the 72-golfer field.
Ardner, a biology major, carries a 3.56 grade-point-average. Ardner was third on the team with an 80.7 scoring average. He ended his tenure with a 17th place finish at the OAC Championships.
This marks the second straight year that Shroyer, Leymon and Ardner have been named Academic All-OAC.
