Leymon garners All-OAC honors at OAC Championships
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, May 1, 2011 - Muskingum University junior Jourdon Leymon was named All-Ohio Athletic Conference en route to leading the Muskies to a sixth place finish at the OAC Championships at River Greens Golf Course Friday-Sunday. [championship results]
Leymon carded a three-day total 224 (74-73-77) to finish tied for sixth in the 44-golfer field. The top 10 finishers at the event were named All-OAC. Leymon tied for the tournament lead in eagles with one, ranked second in par 5 scoring (4-under), fourth in birdies (9) and ninth in par 4 scoring.
Junior Joel Ardner shot a 233 (71-78-84) to finish 25th. He was tied for 10th in par 3 scoring. Junior Joey Shroyer tied for 31st with a 236 (81-77-78) and was tied for fifth in birdies with eight. Senior J.J. Mickey ended play in 33rd place with a 237 (74-73-90) and was 10th in the field in birdies with seven.
Sophomore Eli Morris rounded out the Muskie scoring with a 247 (80-87-80) to finish 37th.
