Muskingum to host 2011 OAC Men's Golf Championships

NEW CONCORD, OHIO, April 25, 2011 - Muskingum University will host the 2011 Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships on Friday, April 29-Sunday, May 1 at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio.

RG1Eight schools will look to dethrone 2010 champion Otterbein University from the top spot. The Cardinals have won 12 of the last 15 OAC Tournament titles. Otterbein defeated runner-up the University of Mount Union by five strokes (600-605) last year at Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance, Ohio.

Otterbein claimed the 2010-11 regular season title with a combined score of 1,406 in its two OAC Tournaments in the fall and spring. The Cardinals finished 17 strokes better than second place Ohio Northern University.

Otterbein's Cody MacLean was the 2010 OAC Tournament medalist after firing a two-day, 1-over-par, 145. MacLean carded an opening round 73 and a 72 in the final round to secure the win.

Tee times begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.
