Thomas named First Team All-North Region and First Team All-Ohio
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, December 6, 2011 - Muskingum University senior linebacker Alex Thomas was named to the D3Football.com All-North Region First Team and to the OhioCollegeFootball.com All-Ohio First Team.

Thomas, who was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Gene Slaughter Most Outstanding Linebacker, led the league with 116 tackles, which ranked 13th in Division III. Additionally, he ranked 17th in Division III with 66 solo stops. Thomas also added nine tackles for loss, four sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one interception.
Earlier in the year, Thomas' play was recognized when he was named to the D3football.com National Team of Week and was honored with OAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
The All-North Region Team was selected in balloting by North Region sports information directors and the D3football.com staff. Thomas now moves on to the D3football.com All-American ballot.
