Burns named Ohio Athletic Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, October 6, 2008 - The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that Muskingum College sophomore quarterback Jake Burns has been named OAC Football Offensive Player of the Week.
Burns led the Muskies to a 35-21 road win at Ohio Northern University last Saturday. He led the Muskie spread-option attack offense going 7-of-11 for 185 yards and a career-high two touchdowns. Burns also added 12 totes for 30 yards and one touchdown. His three total touchdowns on the day set a new career mark too.
On the year, Burns has completed 57-of-90 passes for 708 yards and four touchdowns.
Muskingum hits the field next when it travels to Wilmington College Saturday, October 11. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on WMCO 90.7 FM and simulcast on the Internet at http://www.muskingum.edu/home/athletics/broadcast.html.
