McKenzie named to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week for second straight week
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, December 24, 2008 - The national spotlight continues to shine on Muskingum College's preseason All-American senior post Jessica McKenzie. For the second consecutive week she was named to the D3hoops.com Women's Basketball Team of the Week.
McKenzie averaged 24.5 points and 18 rebounds per game last week. She logged career-highs with her 37-point and 22-rebound effort against Manhattanville College. Her 37 points tied the Muskie school record for points in a game and her 22 rebounds were one shy of the school mark. On the week, she tallied 49 points, 36 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and one steal.
This marks the first time that a Muskie women's basketball student-athlete has been selected in back-to-back weeks for National Team of the Week honors. She was also honored for her stellar play for the second straight week by being named the OAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the seventh time.
The Team of the Week is in its 12th season and recognizes the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week. It is
selected by D3hoops.com staff from nominations by Sports Information Directors and Coaches.
