POST/PERIMETER CAMP

Coach Geno Ford and his staff at Muskingum College have earned an outstanding reputation for developing post players and perimeter players. During Coach Ford’s coaching career, 15 of Coach Ford’s players have scored over 1,000 points and his teams have made numerous post-season tournament appearances. Coach Ford has coached 2 NBA selections, 14 European professionals, 13 All-Conference players and 2 of his players have earned All-American Honors.

For the post players we will emphasize all aspects of post play. Offensively we will drill individuals on catching the ball, protecting the ball in the post, dribbling in the post, reading double teams, proper footwork techniques, passing from the post, offensive rebounding, how to post up correctly, and several offensive moves in the post. Defensively, we will work on position in the post, footwork, different ways to defend in the post, contesting shots, and rebounding. Instruction will be given by the Muskingum staff while Muskingum players will give demonstrations.

Perimeter fundamentals will consist of ball handling skills; receiving the outlet pass; advancing the ball—offensive transition; passing in transition; shooting; entry passes to initiate half court offense; feeding the post—reading the defense; Offensive spacing and court balance; concept of ball reversal with passing and use of dribble; proper cuts and positioning; reading defense in regard to passing, cutting, and screening; shooting techniques; and defensive techniques.

In order to maintain quality individual instruction, enrollment must be limited in this camp. Cost is $175.00 and we will provide campers with dinner on Tuesday, and breakfast and lunch on Wednesday.
