Ross, Dansby and Pittis named All-OAC
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, March 1, 2005 -
The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that junior guard Zach Ross was named to the 2005 second team All-OAC men's basketball squad, and that senior guard Matt Dansby and junior center Cole Pittis were named All-OAC Honorable Mention.
Ross, a former OAC Player of the Week selection and two-time All-OAC honoree, led the Muskies in scoring (16.0 ppg), field goals made (137) and three-point field goals made (73). He was second on the team in free throw shooting percentage (.842) and minutes per game (30.6). Additionally, Ross scored a career-high 35 points against Marietta College on February 9, 2005. Ross is a three-year letterwinner from Centerburg.
Dansby started all 27 games for the Fighting Muskies and led the squad in rebounds (7.0 rpg) field goal shooting percentage (.585), blocks (30), minutes per game (30.7) and steals (44). Furthermore, Dansby was third on the team in assists (2.6 apg) and fourth in scoring (7.4 ppg). Dansby is a four-year letterwinner from Newcomerstown and was named Muskie Most Valuable Player for the 2004-05 campaign.
Pittis, a two-time All-OAC performer and OAC Player of the Week, was Muskingum’s second leading scorer averaging 12.9 points per game. Moreover, Pittis was second on the squad in field goal shooting percentage (.576), rebounds (4.7 rpg) and assists (2.7 apg). Pittis is a two-year letterwinner from Urichsville.
