Shaw to play for Washington BlueSox in 2008
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, November 8, 2007 - Muskingum College pitcher/outfielder Levi Shaw has agreed to play for the Washington BlueSox (Pennsylvania) of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League in 2008.
Shaw, a junior from Hebron, Ohio, posted a 4-2 mark last season with three saves and one complete game. He was also second on the squad in innings pitched (45.1). As a freshman, Shaw had a 3-3 record on the mound.
In addition to his abilities on the mound, the Lakewood High School graduate can also play outfield. Shaw has a career .290 batting average with 14 RBIs.
"The fact that Levi has shown an ability to handle different roles on the mound and to be successful at them, impressed me about this right-hander, said BlueSox General Manager Leo Trich. "Shaw has an extra dimension, in that he can even give us some help at the plate or in the outfield, should we need him to do so."
