Newell named OAC Hitter of the Week

NEW CONCORD, OHIO, April 9, 2012 - The Ohio Athletic Conference has named Muskingum University senior first baseman Colton Newell the OAC Baseball Hitter of the Week.

Newell hit .611 (11-of-18) on the week with two home runs, 10 runs scored, six RBIs and a pair of doubles. Newell's power surge helped lead Muskingum to a 4-0 week of play in the OAC and to the top spot in the league standings.

Muskingum opened the week with a sweep at home against Wilmington College and concluded play with a road sweep at Heidelberg University. Muskingum outscored the Quakers and Student Princes, 36-11.
