Carder earns Gold Glove honor for Mid-East Region
NEW CONCORD, OHIO, May 26, 2010 - Muskingum University senior shortstop Wes Carder has been named a Gold Glove recipient for the Mid-East Region and will now advance to the national Gold Glove ballot.
Carder, who ended his Muskie career as a four-year All-OAC honoree, logged an impressive .967 fielding percentage for the season. He led the team in at-bats (151), runs scored (46), stolen bases (14) and sacrifice hits (5). He hit .325 with 14 RBIs, nine doubles, one triple and one home run. Carder ranks first all-time at Muskingum in runs scored (161), fourth in walks (82), fifth in hits (195), fifth in triples (7) and eighth in career batting average (.368).
