Colleen Blair, a 2013 graduate of Muskingum, decided to plunge into graduate school as soon as she received her bachelor's degree.
After graduating with a degree in special education, Blair decided to attend graduate school so that she could, “expand my knowledge and tools of the trade in order to become a highly effective teacher. In addition, I believe you can never stop learning as a teacher since the research is always changing.”
Reflecting on her time at Muskingum, Blair says, “I am most thankful for the Muskingum education department as they prepared me for graduate school and taught me many best teaching practices. The professors in the education department were very knowledgeable and helpful.”
Blair spent one summer of her undergraduate career interning at AIM Academy, a school dedicated to helping children with language-based learning disabilities such as dyslexia. An Early Childhood Education major, Blair worked with Dr. Rae White, chair of the Education Department, to receive credit for her internship.
