Amy Atkinson Pettigrew, '76
Amy (Atkinson) Pettigrew, ’76, graduated with a double major in Physical Education and Health Education. She received her Master’s degree in Physical Education from Kent State and is currently in her 37th year of teaching. She is an adjunct professor at Ashland University. She serves as a mentor for academically at-risk freshmen athletes. Of mentoring students she says, “I still use every strategy and tip taught to me by my beloved Muskie profs, trying to help these young athletes find a way to succeed.” Pettigrew names the late Donna Newberry and Jim Burson among those faculty who influenced her.
