Major Areas of Study: PUBLIC HEALTH STUDIES

 


The field of public health is concerned with preventing disease, prolonging life, and promoting health and efficiency through organized community effort, fulfilling society’s interest in assuring conditions in which people can be healthy.

The Public Health Studies major at Muskingum consists of an interdisciplinary public health curriculum which provides a foundation for students interested in careers in the various fields of public health, as well as for those whose future careers would benefit from exposure to the concepts of public health. The required courses provide exposure to fundamental concepts of public health and develop skills necessary for public health practice.
