Petroleum Geology Major

(43 core hours in Geology, ~18 hours in other departments)

The Geology Department is pleased to announce a new major in Petroleum Geology to add to our current majors in Geology and Earth Science. The new major is designed for students interested in entering the energy industry. The proposed major still includes all of the fundamental courses of the geology major but adds four new courses that are more specific to the energy industry. Overall this program is intended to serve students looking to take advantage of the new opportunities in the energy industry.
