2008 ANNUAL MEETING
Presbyterian College Chaplains Association
“Keeping in Balance”

How do we teach and model a balanced, non-frantic life to our students, when our own lives are often busy beyond description? Through discussion, exercises, and worship we will think about balance in our lives, especially as it relates to the spiritual life – the inward and outward movements of faith.

 Time:  Friday February 15, noon - Sunday February 17, 8:00 am, 2008

Place:  San Francisco Theological Seminary, San Francisco, California

Keynote speaker and worship leader:  Rev. Laurie  Garrett- Cobbina

Laurie joined the SFTS faculty in 2006 as the Shaw Family Chair for Clinical Pastoral Education. Previously she served as CPE faculty in the Department of Pastoral Care and Education for the Carolinas HealthCare System and pastor of Smallwood Presbyterian Church, in Charlotte, NC. Laurie is a certified practitioner of guided imagery, reiki, and in-surgery spiritual care. She has been a contributing author for a number of books, including Theologies From Racial Ethnic Minority Women of Color, Promise of the Soul, and Having My Say: Reflections on Justice Ministries 1969-1999. She is a graduate of Syracuse University and Princeton Theological Seminary.
